sorry to be a pain, this is prob a daft question(2 som1 that nos) i got told when i rented a house from the council that i cannot run a shower from the combi boiler as it burns them out. ive made the big jump and got chuckied up and bought a house but the shower is running through a worcester 24cdi combi , i cannot aford to replace the boiler if this burns the boiler out in the long term ,so i could just put a mains shower in but i havnt got a clue when it comes to central heating but i am a fast learner if given some good advice

can i run a shower on a worcester 24cdi combi and not have any problems?

You can run a shower from a combi ,not a problem,Think you were told this probably as a excuss,so they could get around fitting a shower or maybe wires crossed

many thanks for the reply
burning out ment the boiler cannot cope with the constant running off hot water used in a shower i no that sounds daft as you run the hot water for a bath but as i am not clued up and a council plummer told me i cannot connect a shower to the boiler i thought i would ask some one that no's.
the shower that is connected to this 24cdi boiler was all ready connected you see but not sure that the mixer valve is a good one or not
but noing that the boiler will be ok that would be a easy fix.........many thanks again

Running a shower off a combi will give you "the ambassadors reception" of showers.

That the same as the 'Dobermans Danglies'? lol

No probs with running a shower off a combi but as said by yamyam, do consider a thermostatic mixer too! No one likes seeing a lobster dancing round a bathroom.

Except me of course but then there is summat wrong with me!

I dont know what kind of plumber would tell you that?

Absolute rot - it never stops amazing me some of the misinformed rubbish that people say about combi boilers . . .

Saying you cant run a shower off a boiler, is like saying you cant cut bread with your bread knife!!
