I'm presuming not but keep hearing from customers that they have. Usually because leaks have developed on them since. If I can tell them I'm not allowed to touch them then it gets me out of faffing about.
 
I think they can - but why would you want to? You won't get paid for it (apart from by the customer) and if something went wrong the water board wouldn't waste time sueing you for as much as possible.
 
you can move them i guess but i thought there is supposed to be 40mm or less between stop tap and meter to ensure a fitting cant be inserted to bypass it?

i know years ago when i fitted them on Wimpy Homes jobs the water board inspector would make us refit fit them if the gap was over a few inches between the stop tap and meter connection. Since then i have always made sure when i fit them on new propertys that the gap is minimium.

wish i could take mine out its in the pavement if i could i would drop kick the bloody thing as far as possible me and my dad live in identical houses with similar water usage my bill is double what he pays he is not on a meter
