I have a WB Greenstar 30 HE.It is 6 years old.I have 4 rads downstairs 2 0f which are new in the summer, upstairs i have 4 also. When the system is off the pressure is at 1 bar and has been all summer so have no pipe leaks. The AAV started leaking water at the end of last winter so have recently replaced it.It screws into top of expansion vessel on this model.
Now to my recent problem. When i demand hot water i get hot water but when i switch off tap the pump continues for a few seconds as normal then switches off and at this time you hear a sort of gurgling of water which seems like it is going through the expansion vessel cos sometimes you can hear a small puff of air being purged out the AAV.
When heating is switched on you can hear a similar gurgling of water then everything is ok.
When hot water demand interupts heating you get that gurgling of air thro water again when the tap is switched off .
It sounds like air is getting in as i have had to bleed a wee bit of air out of the upstairs rads a few times recently. There is inhibitor in the system.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
