hello plumbpeople, my central heating boiler stopped last night ,i pressed the reset button but no joy, tried again an hour later ,nothing.another hour, still no joy. went to bed cold but it started up this morning. any ideas in case it happens again

My crystal ball is useless it hasn't shown me the make and model of your boiler or anything else about your system.

So all I can say is keep praying and pressing the reset button.

sorry for lack of info, its a potterton promax 15/2 .the programmer was on and the wireless thermostat was calling for heat,it just seemed to stop working

wireless controls most suspect
That sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

It might be the wireless thermostat
It might be the motorized valve.

You have to fault find; not guess. But you can only do this, online, if you now full details of the system.
