Can't connect cistern inlet connector because of inlet filter

Hi.
I think the title says it all really.
I was just lining up pipework and stuff and noticed that the Speedfit 15mm X 1/2 BSP tap connector won't connect to the cistern inlet because the inlet filter protrudes out too far to allow the rubber washer on the connector to sit against the outer edge of the inlet.

Contemplated removing the filter and not replacing, or modifying the end of the filter (cutting of the cross shaped bit). 5his may allow enough room for the connector to push into the inlet sufficiently.

Or have I just bought the wrong tap connector? Haha

Any ideas.

why not use a flexi with a iso on?

Will the filter fit in the other way around , if it's a different shape on the opposite end.

Looking at the photo in greater magnification it looks like the ends of the filter are designed to compress when the connector is screwed on.

If the filter is in the way, just remove it.

That's what we do.

If the manufacturers cannot make a filter that enables general plumbing fittings to connect to it, then the filter is not fit for purpose.

Are you ever going to call the manufacturer for a warranty replacement of that part?
They would deny it with or without filter installed

If needed, withdraw it - cut a bit off the other end and then put it back in.
