Cartridge replacement

Hello. Am I correct in thinking that the whole of the brass fitting in the attached image is removed to reveal a cartridge. It's pretty tight.

Nope just the right hand big eg the smaller threaded part good set of adjustable spanner or a long socket and should come off you will have to hold the tap

Thanks. I used an adj spanner on the hexagon nut but the whole fitting turned. I will have to restrain the tap/fitting.
