Anyone use silicon on strap on bosses I’ve got a cast effect stack to do and they a bit bumpy for my liking with glue

I have used grey CT1 for a strap boss into (is anyone looking?) an asbestos soil pipe.
Used some wire to pull the lugs together, it was one of those with ratchet teeth.
The 1 1/2 was into a rubber bung, and clipped very well.
Been there about 4 years with no issues…

Can you use the mcalpine rubber bung type?

No as the architect it quite observant/pita, quoted to do it all in cast but he died at the price so now cast effect which looks crap
