Motorised control valves, room stat.

Problem - boiler turns itself on at random when the the contoller timer programme is off. Was happening with previous unit and the current one is brand new! What's going on!

Please help!

you have one more option to call a local plumber to check control or rewire with new controls

Motorised valve micro switch is sticking? Or frost stat in boiler is activating/shorting could be a consideration

Have removed the frost stat in an attempt to identify where the fault is? Motorised valves seem to be ok....

Check for 240v on orange when it plays up and its off on programmer, then check sl to valve, if no power on sl but power on orange valve is faulty. If power to sl fault lies with another external control, i.e programmer.

Had the opposite problem with two zone valves on an electric boiler, microswitch not making contact when valve open, soon sorted with a tweak from the pliers. Most likely the problem lies with the microswitch on one of the valves especially since it sounds like they are original.
