Hi all
I am having trouble getting all rads hot.
Rads hot upstairs open 1 to 1.5 turns. downstairs are fully open but luke warm. when the hot water is used and needs reheating the downstairs rads become cold. I have tried closing all rads bar 1 which is fully open and becomes as hot as a rad should be then open a 2nd rad and the heat seems to be shared but never gets to full temperature.
boiler worcester bosch 18 ri
pump 15-60
house 3 bed semi 4 rads up 3 rads down.

Any help much appreciated jasonw.

Unless system is underpiped then you should have no trouble balancing that.

Look for other causes, airlock perhaps?

It sounds as if your system has not been properly balanced.

However:

An 18kW boiler sounds a bit big for seven rads. I would have expected a 12-15kW.

A 15-60 is probably too large a pump for seven radiators. What speed setting is the pump on?

The pump is on max i changed it from a 15-50 just in case there was'nt enough pressure.
As for the boiler i will be getting 2 extra rads fitted in the warmer months.

What would be the best way to balance the system? i have closed of the upstairs rads to 1 to 1.5 turns and it still dosent send much heat downstairs.
