Duelly

I have a radiator that was always on despite turning down the stat valve. I suspected that the valve mechanism may have been stuck so gave it a tap. The valve now seems to work. However, after an hour and a half or so of the heating been on (presumably when the room gets to temperature), there is now a loud banging/gurgling within the system and the pressure rises on the combi boiler. I can only assume that a relief valve opens and the pressure drops again to normal levels, this cylce then repeats. If I leave the valve full on it seems to stop. All the radiators have been bled, as I initially though air couldv'e been introduced with the freeing of the valve. Don't really want the radiator on full now the weather's getting warmer! Any clues/help much appreciated!

Thanks, Mark.

are all the rads in your house on trv valves if so this could be your problem as on some systems one rad has to remain open all the time to allow heat in the boiler to escape into the system when all the other trvs shut down

the rad that stayed on all the time might have been the by-pass if all other rads have trvs installing auto by-pass valve on system might help

Thanks for the replies.
All rads are fitted with trv's (5 in total).
I tried turning the original rad down and turned another full on - made no difference though.
Will have to double check where/if they are fitted with lockshields.
What do you mean "take head off"?

Thanks Mark.
