Hi my full central heating system needs doing, its 3 bed semi-detached house, 7 radiators and 1 towel rail.
Iv got my plumbing nvq level 1 so have very basic knowledge of using pipes and fitting radiators.

My plans is to plumb before the boiler then have my corgi reg mate do the installation from there.

It will be a sealed system with just the combi boiler no tank. I will be using pvc barrier pipe with push fittings and inserts. Also fastening pipe as i go.

I would be starting from the water mains which runs in through next to the front door and then up stairs into the bathroom. So id start placing a straight connector on the excising copper pipe to my pvc pipe which id the then T off in to my cold feed bath tap, run to shower and T off (gas shower),run to sink and T off again, and then run the cold feed pipe down stairs passing my down stairs toilet T off,run to my kitchen sink T off and run feed before boiler.

Id start to run my hot feed pipe back up the same route as my cold feed with all same connections, finishing at my bath.

As for my radiators id start from near the boiler and run the flow pipe to the 1st radiator (down stairs) T off and run to the 2nd and T off, to the 3rd T off to the fourth and finish at the fourth radiator. In which id run a return pipe from the boiler to the 1st rad T off, to the 2nd T off, to the 3rd T off and connect and finish at the fourth.

Ill run a septate flow pipe from the boiler upstairs and do the same installation to the radiators up stairs as i did down. As with the return pipe.

Whilst laying my pipes i will be laying them the shortest and most efficiently routes.Using minimal Ts and elbow connections as possible

All pipes will be ran in 15mm. I also will be using copper pipe to come through the floor to the rads.

How does this plan sound? all Advice welcomed

Thanks

Firstly I'd look for a mate who is gas safe registered as Corgi is no longer the governing body for gas and if he's a good mate ask his advice.

The labourer on a building firm I subbed for had done nvq l1 at school. He knew less about plumbing than my three year old boy!

It's meant to be like an introduction into plumbing..waste of government money in my opinion

Gas shower ? I didnt think they would make the journey from the concentration camps to the domestic home !

I asked for advice on my plan, not critism towards me. By all means critise my plan with reason.
This is what the uk lacks respect for others, an to much ignorance. I came here for a little advice thats all, you know how to make a new member welocome.

You're right. Also the correct use of grammar and wordz is miss from this gr8 kuntry.

But seriously, the first reply was the best advice you'll get on here. You are attempting something beyond your capabilities and you'd be better off learning from someone on the tools (face to face) than on an internet forum.

Personally, I'd use 22mm pipe for the main runs, then tee off in 15mm for the rads, rule of thumb I was taught is to supply no more than 3 rads from 15mm pipe. You'll struggle to get good flow to 7 rads through 15mm. Why not use copper? Will give you plenty of practice in soldering and pipe bending.

Welcome along Wozzawoz :)

Mike Jackson has given you the best advice you are probably going to get on here. Good luck.

A little bit of knowledge is dangerous, best approach a guy who is gonna commission the installation for you (sign it off) and talk to him, or go down to your local merchants and talk to some local guys face to face as it seems you are trying to save yourself a bit of cash on the labour side of things, you may get lucky and find someone willing to help out, and plan the install for you-good luck
