Hello,

We have had the central heating on for the last few evenings, pump is always on setting 2.

I went to put the heating on this evening and the pump didnt come on, I moved the setting switch to 3 and it works, moved it back to second and it doesnt work, move it to first and it doesnt work either.

Now it's on the fastest speed it pumps air around the system which makes an awful noise.

Is my pump faulty?

Thanks :)

Probably. Buy a new one

Is replacing the pump a DIY job or would I need to get someone in?

DIY job, unless there are problems. Best to get a plumber (takes one about an hour) in but if you're going to tackle it yourself you'll probably require some patience and it's always helpful to have good tools to make the job much easier.

Depends on the pump valves. Could be a nice easy job or could be a mare. If it's gate pump valves and you have the right spanners then it should be ok. If its ball pump valves or valves pass then it's more of a job.

Upload a pic of the pump. We may r able to guide you better

You can usually just swap the pump head like for like using an allen key.
