We have a problem where when we manually turn the central heating on it does not always come on. Please see the video linked below for a demo of the issue. The video was taken yesterday.

This morning when I tried the same thing the central heating came on no problem without turning the hot water on.

Also I have taken the front of the thermostat this morning to check if the black dot on the front was an LED or not. It turns out there is no light - just a black dot. When I turn the thermostat up and down this morning the central heating goes on and off not problem too.

We have been having this intermittent issue for 2 or 3 years now and last time we had a engineer out he replaced the control unit but that did not make any difference apart from being £100 lighter.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Ed
