Friends,

Had a call from an older gent, 76yo, lives in a high rise and has CH system serviced by a communal boiler.

He is having a problem with noisy pipes and even held the phone to the pipes so I could hear them!

He is a lovely chap but I have no clue how to help him, he thinks the rads need bleeding but I think not.

This issue is getting him down as he cant sleep.

I really want to help him so I said I'd see him tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Rocket.

Turn the heat off before bed! Seriously tho mate it will be a nightmare to resolve the problem. Normally pipes to tight in a notch, no felt lagging in notches, not enough clips or clips to tight to a surface. You could spend hours finding the problem.

yeah, I thought instantly it was expansion of pipes, too tight as you say, I feel sorry for the chap!

mmm.....

trouble is though may not even be his flat that has noisy pipes, could be a neighbour.

Yes, that what I told him, he said his neighbours can hear his pipes!! Must be blooming loud noise, thin walls or they got good hearing!!

Maybe a waste of time.
