went to a customers house now to fix radiators not working, the pump was gone, very old blue pump with 2 Philip screws on the face of it, capacitor held on with insulating tape, told him that id go to the van to look if I had a pump. so I had a look, I had a grundfoss pump but it was out of its box with a few scratches on, also I had no washers for it, so I told him that I would have to get some washers on Monday and come back to do it then, he then asked me if I would be happy to leave the new pump in his property until Monday, ok fine I thought as he has lived near me for years and I sort of know him. he then went on to tell me as I left that if I did not hear anything off him to return Monday with washers to change the pump, but that he will call me I he can find another plumber to do it before Monday!!! and to just bill him for the pump!!!! how much should I charge him to change the pump ? as I know he will not find anybody else to do it before Monday. the pump has been in the van for a few months if not years and I don know where I picked it up. but has not been used.

I would have told him to jog on. I wouldn't be leaving a pump there for him to try and get someone else out to fit it.

He could have had it for 200.

A call out plus 96 for the pump plus profit.
