Changing an old toilet.

Hi guys,

I've got to change an old low level toilet for a customer. The existing soil pipe on the toilet is actually part of the toilet and made of porcelain, and cemented into the soil pipe in the ground. I'll be replacing it with a close coupled toilet.

What I'd like to know is. Is it acceptable to break the porcelain out, tidy it up and replace with one of those question mark type pan connectors? Then just reseal it with silicone/mortar or similar.

yes its the way to do the connector your on about is called a swan neck you might find you need to use a bent multiquick instead if the cistern does not reach the wall make a small shelf to fix it to,you can make a feature out of the shelf

Yes, I had a feeling it wouldn't reach all the way back. I'll do that with the shelf. Thanks for the advice.
