I don't post often but wanted to share the absolute joke that Checkatrade has become.
Just a few days ago I've had a casual spam email from them "10 ways to improve your profile blah blah" I opened that and what caught my eye is uploaded below. Without any notice, without any effort to cosult or inform Checkatrade has created a new "Pro" membership. After calling up and enquiring their support said casually "oh its always been an option to be flexible member" kept dropping things in that were never offered to us, never mentioned.I was explained how this Pro membership (only available to flexi members) costs double and gives you double leads. I was told "your standard membership is for 120 leads a year".
Guys in what other advertising media, nevermind, in what other anything do you pay money and never get told what you are actually paying for? Welcome to Checkatrade!

- Leads targets on memberships (what happens when you hit your standard membership target??)
- Pro membership = double leads, pay for them (but no one tells you if you got the actual number of leads, that info is not available to you)
- BUY MORE! Postcodes, leaflets, advertise twice in same postcode. Yep there are companies with shittiest reviews that come up top on every search, they just throw money at Checkatrade.
- On topic of reviews - fu*ked up a job? Its ok. Even a score of 1/10 occasionally will only ever result in average of at least 9/10. Ever seen a business on Checkatrade with less than 9/10? They don't exist thanks to clever mathematicians at Checkatrade.
- On topic of throwing money at leads. Guess what mr customer mr public - if it costs a company £30 in leads to get your custom they wont come and do your job to make just another £30. Welcome call out fee, minimum charge, admin fee. Here is £300 bill for hour and a half work. Happydays.
- Non existing support for members. I was sold two postcodes and £700 for them until I rang up and said I didnt have a single phonecall from them areas. They admitted a fault with their system and told me the money will be taken off future bills. Half a year later, dozens of phonecalls and it still hasnt happened. This is just one example, trust me if you have an issue resolving it is at the bottom of their priorities.
