Got called out today to help a custards mum that has a Vokera ASHP.

The circulation pump built into the unit is peeing out water and causing the unit to trip, so need a replacement pump

It's a Salmson Type SXM25-60CA Art-Nr 2109203

Called Vokera, they don't stock them in the UK, a replacement is £560 plus VAT and we can have one at the earliest end of November !! - Talk about duty of care, they sell 5 ASHP's in the UK and they only need 2 circulating pumps to keep as spares, and don't stock either. Worse still they can;t even gove me a fixed delivery date.

So I'm not happy! (let alone the custard)

Called Wilo to look for a replacement compatible unit, turns out that Salmson are a part of the Wilo group and this is a custom pump for Vokera...

Anyone else any ideas?

I think you've exhausted your options to be honest. Though it might be worth giving Grundfos a bell. Is it a standardish body or are there bells and whistles on it?

Pretty poor show for Vokera though.

Standardish body, longer than standard 130, usual flanges , pump head or flow rate seems to be the special bit, wilo suggested it may have a custom impeller. I'll give Grundfos a call , thx

Where's it peeping out from, could you replace an o ring internally?

Or find out where it was bought and take the whole unit out and replace.

It's an OEM part, so only available from Vokera, taking it apart may have to be the solution, though at the moment we are so busy finding the time for that is difficult!.

Replacing the circulation pump is what I'd like to do.

p.s. the replacement part from Vokera is list at £551.00 plus VAT !!!

Replacing the whole ASHP I don't want to do as there are so many bits 'not quite right' (no glycol etc) that we'd end up re-installing the lot. As usual it was installed by a Vokera trained, non MCS certified, gas boiler installer that doesn't want anything to do with heat pumps, and the client is left to pick up the pieces..

The power of social media :) - Result.

Got fed up with Vokera's response so posted on facebook, voila, pump will be with me Monday !!

Looking at other posts, seems like others have also experienced their Customer (Don't) Care Team.

Still an arm and a leg at list price of £550, however Grundfos also came up with a possible replacement - Magna3 25-60 that was the same list price (£535.00) !

one problem with the Magna3 series its massive and requires a bit of space but great pump

So is the current salmson one - it's 180mm long so matches

Thought I'd posted the original photo, here it is anyway: 1-IMG_3454.jpg

Can't you just replace it with a standard 25-60 / 180 pump.

Grundfos make them and I'm positive that Wilo have them also.

For a lot less money than you have been quoted

It's a 180mm pump for starters, so that adds £.
Allegedly it's a custom pump, with a custom impeller to give design flow / head.
It's difficult to know whether the pump is speed controlled by the ASHP or just runs straight, they are usually speed controlled to manage the output and minimum flows.
It would cost more to buy and try and then have to replace because of faults rather than pay the £ and get the 'official' one. If it was still going to be the end of November delivery then, yes we'd give it a go with one of the others.

The retail price for the Grunfos equivalent was £535 anyway..

Thanks for the responses.
