My cistern is passing water into the toilet after it is filled up, very, very slowly. I can probably live with it, but any ideas how to stop please?

It maybe over flowing in which case adjust ball float or replace washer or if push flush type could be rubber seating of syphon if so clean, silicon greese

I agree with puddle or just replace the inlet valve, ball valve assembly or torbek type fitting.
