Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to the site and need some help/advice. When our toilet is flushed the water is very slow to fill the cistern up, unless we turn on the bathroom tap for a second or two then it fills up as normal. Anyone have any suggestions please.
Thanks in advance

Why would turning on a tap speed up the WC inlet?
If the WC is tank fed they can be quite slow to fill anyway, especially if the valve is old. But I don't get the tap thing.

suspect sticking washer in ball valve.overhaul or mabybe change ball valve🙂regards turnpin

If the valve was sticky and the WC and basin are tee'd together could be that by opening the cold mains in the sink and then shutting it the effect of stopping the water flow could cause a momentary pressure increase as the water 'bounces' back ?

Might also be worth while checking the stop tap is open wide enough and not restricting flow.

Thanks for the advice, but now sorted. I took the inside apart and loads of gung was in the tube.
