I've gone through a fair few over the years. I always come back to my machine with timer. I prefer it a bit stewed so set it an hour earlier than I want it.

I didn't like the tassimo machine, tasted a bit plastic to me. And the refills are expensive.

Bet your bottom dollar that which ever one you pick she wont like it so better off just asking her for a choice of 2 or maybe 3, but do check the £`s of the little tab things if she wants one of those type.

Had a senseo about 10yrs ago, got it of nectar points, it was good & lasted about 5 yrs before it died.

We've just bought my girlfriends brother one from Argos for £64.99 (apparently half price) it looks good and has good reviews.

He used to use a tassimo or something like that and the refills were extortionate, this one apparently uses normal ground coffee.

I'm a great lover of coffee and us English are so bad at making it.

Instant coffee is horrible. It's the coffee alternative of micro wave meals. Okay if there is nothing else but you can do so much better.

The pod machines have great marketing but running costs of buying the pods all the time just burn holes in wallets.

My advice to anyone is to get a pumped espresso machine and but grinded coffee.

All my friends demand cappuccinos from me now and I even do an xmas special gingerbread latte.

I have the delonghi ecm 860 and love it.

If you got a Costco nearby get them from there, I think 6 boxes are something like a tenner

cant beat a nice freshly ground coffee unlike the instant stuff although i do buy alot of the nice expesive instant coffee's for work
