Coil testing

Morning all,

More than ever before i'm testing coil resistance on a service and getting a high percentage of bfp coils reading 2.6kohms> so i've changed them, but Im fitting a lot! I understand reading should be 1.8-2.4 high end after running and getting hot. So what resistance would be your trigger point to change?

To be honest i only ever change them if they're faulty, either dead short or overheating and going to infinity. Get enough bother without looking for it !!!! :uhoh2::uhoh2:

Thanks for your reply. I know what you mean i have always done the same as you, but "looking for it" is exactly what i try and do on a service. Preventative maintenance and testing if a component is on its way out is big part of a service for me.
