cold feed blocked with insulation falling in the cold water cister any help?

I was called out to a job the other day got to return tuesday and what has happened is some loft insulation has fallen in to the cold water storage cistern and been sucked down the cold feed pipe.So when you try to run the cold for the basin and bath the flow is really poor.Is there anyway you know of sorting this problem.The bath panel is all tiled with no access so dont want to go down that route if i can help it.Any advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance

I am no expert but if it is effecting both hot and cold I would suspect that it is jammed at the first elbow (or tight bend in the flow after the cistern. I would have drained the tank and opened that first joint and maybe remove that section of pipe or put a hose on it from an incoming mains supply to blow it back into the tank.

is the wc filling ok? have you taken apart taps could be stuck under washer or discs, are there isolation valves on feeds to taps could be there. if not try blasting out with mains pressure

If it was a wad and water partially blocked at gravity cold and hot it probably has not travelled very far. my guess is still first joint (until it starts to break up).

Try clearing it as though its an airlock.

Depends of course how tight its wedged itself.

Favourite place is probably on the cold water supply gate valve seating.

Just hope the cylinder isnt full of the stuff or that might be coming out as well,i presume when u say insulation u mean rockwool.

had a similar problem once got lucky with a length of curtain wire with a small hook on the end hope it works for you if not try one of the other suggestions put forward good luck regards turnpin

Thanks everyone for your advice hocked up hose to the mains and blew insualtion into tank in and within 20 mins nice

once fixed I would have suggested to customer to have a lid or cover fitted to CWSC to prevent happening again

Hi ballando, hose onto mains and where did the otther end go? Presumably onto a tap?
