Is it me but are gas cylinder performance when they are freezing cold getting worse and worse ?

Both my SF2's don't have a big enough flame to solder 22 until they've been warmed up for 5-10 mins on a radiator. Can't be a fault with my SF2's as they are fine once the cylinders warm up ?

what gas you using? ive found the last few mapp gas bottles ive had to be low on pressure/power. dont know if its from the cold, never warmed the thing up.

Using yellow Roth. I'm wondering whether i have actually got a problem with SF2's but warming the bottles up prior to use is building too much pressure which is compensating for a couple of dicey torches. I know that no flux/solder has gone down the tips.

Strange

I've always found a cold gas bottle makes it a pain to solder. Like you say it seems to effect the pressure of the bottle.

Never had a problem. Torch straight out of cold van and use it straight away.

It is strange as I can't say that in 25 years of plumbing, I've noticed a difference between hot and cold bottles.

I have noticed my Surefire with Mapp gas when thawing frozen pipes in severe freeze of Winter 2010 started to flame up & down. Normally no bother on Propane except when flux & solder has dropped into the nozzle.
