Hi everybody, I am new here and my first question is about a little problem I have had in the last couple of weeks with my shower. Before I call a plumber I would like to know if it is something major or I can repair it easily. Few weeks ago I notice the pressure of the cold water in the shower was not very good, in fact if i opened half of it there was some water running but if I try to open completly it stop running. he pressure of the hot water is very good, the tub too, toilet too, in the kitchen no problem ...... it is only in the shower and with the cold water. I noticed if I open the tub in the kitchen and the basin it runs better and after a while I can close them and it will go better.

Any idea what can be the problem?

Thanks

We need some more details if you want us to help you , what kind of shower , kind of water system ie combi boiler or you have hot tank,, i think it could be the foo foo valve thats stickin,

Hi the boiler is a com bi one, and the shower is a normal one, no electric, just a bar shower attach to the bath tubs (if I make any sense....)

Thanks for your help
pictures would help. Is it attached to the bath? I assume it is thermostatic based on your "bar" description? Do you have a hot water cylinder in addition to your boiler?
It could be many things and I cant narrow down without more detailed and precise information. If you can not provide that information then knowing where the fault lies will not help you as either way you will need to leave it to a professional to have it resolved. In addition too the foo foo valve allready mentioned you might want to try checking for an airlock, or blocked valve inlet filters, faulty thermostatic cartridge, twisted flexi and a myriad of other potential causes and plumbing defects or failed components that could cause this depending on your properties plumbing system.
P.s. almost forgot to ask. Is your boiler white by any chance seems to be a common fault with the white ones.

So you have a worcester Bosch. Can you open the flap at the bottom, there should be a label that will say the model of the boiler. Does the boiler come on if you put the kitchen hot tap on?
I think you should get a plumber in who knows what they are doing. You could list your job and location on the right part of the forum and see if anyone is close enough to take on the job. like I said in a previous post regardless of what anyone tells you on here you clearly dont have a good enough understanding of your plumbing yourself to undertake a succesfull repair without potentially causing more damage. Save yourself the time and hassle and get someone who knows what they are doing to work out what is causing your low water pressure at your shower and then they can offer to resolve the problem for you. This will of course cost money, but it will be well spent and an expedient means of fixing the problem.
