Hi, Could any
one tell me if splitting the mains feed to the cold water tank
between two ballcock valves would fill the tank any quicker.
Thanks Russ.

hello Russ,
what is the problem particularly?
why is the filling time a problem, is it being pulled to quick by a pump?
is the supply pressure poor?
what size tank do you have?

We had a customer once who had this problem, tank taking too long to fill. Pushed into a corner we fitted a LP ball valve (green orifice) as opposed to the white hp. FYI, it was a part 1 valve , BS1212 I think. Worked a treat. Not sure if this contravenes any bye laws. Hopefully not.

Hmm! Problem is, if the mains water pressure picks up at times of least use. It can cause overflows.

Bernie, that was obviously a concern. It was one of those jobs where it went against the grain and we agreed not to invoice for one month to prove everything was okay. Needless to say 'we got away with it' and we still visit this property every so often for other jobs and it's still fine. But you are right, in an 7 bar static area, it would probably be a different story.
