i need to source a kitchen mixer tap thats biege with a fleck in it.

ideas please lads and lasses :)

do you have any pics drip?.

i was after one for a cust about a year ago and they were made in a quantity batch for specific contracts 'new builds' the surplus sold to sheds untill they were gone. sounds like the one your after dates to latter part of 80's.
i think it was swirl west midlands or derbyshire?.

Like an idiot i didnt take a pic but will on next visit.

Interesting. tap looks like it belongs in the 80s but kitchen was only fitted approx 5 years ago, it matches the sink/drainer. all plumbed in with speedfit.
The cartridge is obselete, theres a copy available but its a poor fit.

So i reckon your right on its age, even though its newish to the customer.
I think the kitchen fitters are still going so i might try them to see if they can at least identify it.

is it like this?

yeh, thats it.
an astra cast i remember now, the champagne is a straight cream colour and the one i did i quoted for a chrome replacement of simular style as the targa was no longer available (i phoned astra).

yours could be the island sand then, whaatas the problem with it?.

dripping. Merchant had never seen the cartridge but upon looking out back found somthing almost identical with same BREV name on it.
cartridge is very poor and pops undone when plastic tabs line up.

i think new cartridge slightly too short, had a call an hour later saying cold wont turn off , the cartridge had popped open.

put the new inners into the old cartrige shell and it no longer pops but the drip is back. metal disc is new and clean, as are the rubbers and springs.

hes agreed to new tap but i can at least see if i can get a fresh cartridge from the makers.

Id semi geared him up for chrome tap on his island sand sink so this should make him happy.
nice one:)
