Hi all,

Moving to a house and I need to replace the existing oil boiler which is currently located in the house.

House: 4 bedrooms detached (2 doubles & 2 singles). Not a big house though, around 120 sq m. 2 floors with guest toilet. en-suite and family bathroom.

Options:

1- moving the boiler outside, zoning the system for hot water and heating the house, full automatic,(programmer, motorising valves, room thermostat). i will also supply and heat the radiator in the garage, fit thermostatic valves to all radiators, replace the water cylinder and supply and fit water pump for the shower. Quote: 2.7k EUR.

2-
supplying and fit a new high efficiency Firebird 26 kilowatts combi boiler ( you will have instant hot water and control over the heating). I will fit a buster pump which will pressurize all water in the house. I will supply and fit the radiator in the garage, fit thermostatic valves on all the radiators, supply and fit time programmer. Quote: 3.9k EUR.

Which option would be most suitable for this house?

Option one but seems far to cheap if replacing cylinder also. I'd steer clear of a combi if you can

Why would you pressurise the water in the house if you were fitting a combi, it should be fed off the mains, unless themains is not man enough.
