Is it normal for a combi boiler to ignite every few seconds? We have a prepayment meter and I know that's more expensive but the central heating seems to be costing a lot of money. Just checking to see if the boiler is faulty or if that's normal?

without the make and model its difficult to help but it could be you have the preheat or warmstart turned on try looking at the operating instructions for this

Sounds like it could be a flame recognition or gas valve/PCB fault if it's firing every few seconds

It's a Ferroli Falcon. It mostly ignites every 3 seconds. It can go about 15-30 seconds, but rarely longer.

Do you get fluctuating hot water temperature and do the radiators take a while to heat up?
