Discuss Combi boiler losing pressure and turning off in the Boilers area at Plumbers Forums

Hi all,

I've had a look through the forum and seen a few threads about combi boilers losing pressure, but still haven't worked out what the issue with ours is.

New combi boiler installed a few months ago (previously had a separate hot water tank). We top up the pressure to approx 1.6 and within 24 hours it has gone back down to zero. Is this just the small volume of water held in the filling loop that is disappearing? I'm worried about where it all ends up, if we are topping up each day. This happens even when we are not using the central heating, so I think it is an issue within the boiler itself. However, I have checked all radiators and none need bleeding.

Furthermore, whenever we do have the central heating on, after a while the hot water stops working and we need to press the restart button on the boiler (error code is 'no flame signal').

I'm a tenant and have asked the landlord to send someone round, but the first plumber who came couldn't figure it out and it would be good to have a few possibilities to narrow it down! Thanks

You have a leak somewhere time to get the installer back

If the boiler loses pressure on days where we don't use the central heating, does that suggest that the leak is somewhere in the boiler itself? And would the water be draining away outside, or possibly from a pipe somewhere under the floor? I will ask for the installer to come back round, but that's who came and couldn't figure it out! Thanks

No will be on the system mostly and yes normally the place to look if the pipes are in the concrete floor
