hi all,
need some advice. I want to take a bath out and replace with a shower. the boiler is a combi so need some advice on the draining procedure. will the combi have 2 filling loops i.e one for hot water supply and one for central heating?

Hi stgiles
if you are only intending to stop your domestic hot water. first of all make sure you turn off the power to the boiler so it will not operate when it is drained. then turn off your mains stopcock, this will turn off all your water including the hot.
regards
mike

Well filling loop for heating only,so leave alone, unless topping up system pressure.
If you want to isolate hot and cold to bath, just turn boiler off and close mains stopcock to property, this will stop hot and cold supplies to bath open taps down stairs to drain pipework cut back hot and cold and fit isolation valves as required ready to run for new shower,re-enstate cold mains stopcock let water run through a hot and cold taps turn off and turn power back on to boiler
Please note that although alot of people now like showers it does decrease the value of your property if you only have a shower and no bath
