[LEFT[/LEFT]Hi guys ,I am trying to keep cost down on a system boiler, unvented cylinder, had an idea to use the heating side of a combi only,as it's £120 quid cheaper would there be a problem with this set up,or has any installed this way ,would appreciate your thoughts

For the sake of £120.00 i would stick to a regular system boiler & unvented cylinder, probs be less heasaches in the long run!

To use a combi you would probs need to run 1 tap off the combi at least, someone who has done it before will advise better!

I thought about that myself but 120 could make the difference ,was thinking just have no cold feed

have seen them with just drain off on hot water outlet, dont know how this will affect the warranty tho

I have fitted loads of combis for heating only, never had any probs just left hw side open.

I always fit valiant will ask about warranty, they probably won t be happy, the thing is you get less boiler for more money it s more economical to run you would think they would promote more?

agree about less, theres hardly owt in them and they are more money ??
intergas combis can be used as heat only and are very good boilers and at reasonable price
imho

£120 may be the difference in price but you have to consider now good the system will operate
as suggested Intergas is probably yor best option but not if your concerned over cost

Does inter gas only manufacture one boiler for both purposes? I ve not come across them ,do they have there own unvented cylinder?like I said I am a valiant man I like the quality ,been round the block with manufacturers and settled with v

they make combis,system and ov,
not aware of any cylinders,
was a vaillant man too, but put off by rubber pipes in ecotec.
think intergas much better build quality and more efficient.
imho :)

have done it before and run one tap off hot side of combi, normally kitchen sink as its near boiler. helps with gas rating if nothing else.

I ll have a look at intergas,is there a set up procedure when using combi for heat only?or is a case of not connecting cw?(I ve not seen rubber hoses on valiant for 3 yr now talking to v engineer today says there s a new Eco tec due out in April)

them rubber valliant pipes do seem shady shame otherwise i rate valliant because they work brilliant and are easy to fix

no, you dont need to connect cold main,
you can also use as just waterheater, then you have to tell boiler its just a multipoint, it turns off pressure sensor
shows how long since last put vaillant in lol

Intergas 24kw system boiiler is cheaper than the intergas 28/24 combi so just go for the system boiler

What's the warranty on a intergas I get 5 yr on valiant but the system boiler 618 is £120 more than a 24kw £150 on 624 system

Its 5yrs if installed by a trained intergas installer, you have to go on the 1 day course
