T

that bloke.

few questions guys , first of all , what is involved in commissioning an lpg boiler?
second , how much would it cost , im in suffolk just east of bury.
please dont shock me too much.

What are we talking about here? Installing a regulator and piping up to appliances? Piping up from an LPG meter??? Let us know

sorry , should have been more specific.i am installing an lpg dhw and heating system, i plan to do all the pipework , the hot and cold and heating. i am not qualified to plumb in a combi boiler so i dont know where an unqualified person stops and a qualified person takes over.
what can i do , can i hang the boiler but just not connect anything?
calor gas will be bringing the gas feed into the building and terminating it beside the boiler if they dont connect it.

guys? anyone? or cant i even go as far as hanging the boiler?
i am trying to sort out what budget i have left for my cottage restoration and will need to have it habitable quite soon so i need to try and get an idea of whats what with the heating as this is one of the biggest single expences.

technically you cant hang the boiler as you will be determinating where the flue can terminate best thing you can do is leave it in the box and get a qualified engineer to complete the installation

this is true , thank you.
any ideas of how much a boiler install might cost if all the pipe work is present?
ive had a survey from a calor gas engineer who said the positioning of the boiler would be fine but your right , its best to let someone qualified do it all.

no difference other than 10 minutes labour between lpg and nat gas

could be 2 hrs - could be 20.
either way you need to get your local engineer in !!

i will certainly be getting an engineer in , its not going to be for 6 weeks or so but i need to find out how much roughly to budget for and if there is anything i can do to get the cost down to a minimum.
the plumbing side of it isnt a problem , ive worked as a mate for 2 years plumbing new builds so i can take care of that side of things.

surely then you have contacts in the trade and need not ask our advice?

its been a few years since i worked in the plumbing industry but i could ring round i suppose , another problem being ive only worked in east sussex and the cottage is in suffolk , things are a bit more expensive in east sussex , so no one down here will know how much an engineer in suffolk might charge.
any engineers in the bury area fancy a boiler install job?
