Just browsing the threads and this one here // www .plumbersforums. net /threads /bldg-regs-compliance-interlock.103043/ caught my eye.

1. If a GS registered installer installs a new boiler that does not meet the standards of the Commissioning Checklist, but signs it off anyway, what is to be done?
The original installer being either dishonest or incompetent cannot be relied upon to remedy the problem or the customer has lost faith in them.
a) Must the original engineer remedy the problem?
b) Can different GS registered engineer remedy the fault?
c) The GSR only allows for the original engineer to remedy defects highlighted in the Inspection report, if the customer has lost faith in their competence, what options are available to the customer?

2. The thread above says that an installation was found to be defective following a GS Inspection: " the GS inspector's report also highlighted some building regs contraventions which were not directly within the Gas Safe remit. These include ...... benchmark only part completed ..."
a) Defecting an installation due to BR contraventions - does anyone have any experience of this still happening?
GSR have indicated that this falls outside of their remit, any thought, please?
b) What should happen if the Commissioning Checklist is filled in incorrectly - specifically the last section on "ALL INSTALLATIONS"

The GSR are not interested in the Benchmark process and have no remit. That being so, under whose remit does it fall under? If there is no answer to the question, what's the point of having it other than as simply a checklist for the installer but that it can't be relied upon by the customer?

Cheers
