Hi, I'm not a plumber, so I may not have the correct terms for what my problem is but, here goes:
I only get hot water from my Glow-worm compact 100e if the heating is on, otherwise I get just warm water, if I reduce the flow from the tap. I've checked the 3 way valve and it's moving "in" when I turn on the heating and "out" (which I think is default position) with the heating off. The valve that this connects to, I've check by manually pushing in the little plunger and it moves freely, with some resistance, and returns immediately I release it. I've asked 2 friends who ARE plumbers, one thinks it's the secondary heat exchanger blocked and tells me it's not possible to clean out, the other thinks it's not likely to be the exchanger but says it IS possible to clean? Any help or thoughts would be gratefully accepted....... Ian

ok, but the diverter valve is moving when I turn on the heating and moving back when I turn it off, so I presume that's OK? The part it's attached to, as I said, the plunger is moving if I apply pressure by hand and returning. Is there a way of testing these parts another way?

as gas man says its probably the diverter valve - even though the pin is pushed in and out and seems to be working the seals in the valve could be stuck or worn.a diverter repair kit is available for these boilers but a little awkward to fit.

My old man has one of these. The DHW flow switch diaphragm needs to be replaced every 3 year.! I've just done it last week. I've booked him in for for the next change in 2014!!
