i think the iron is 20mm not sure what sizes does iron come in,i need to connect 22mm copper what do you use....?
 
It will be half inch or 3/4 thread, use a copper to iron.
 
Mechanical joints should not be buried or hidden, it's in the Irish regs which are very close to the UK regs.
