Discuss Connecting bath drainage to soil pipe in the Boilers area at Plumbers Forums

Hi all,

I need to connect my bath drainage to my new soil pipe. I have only one spare entry to boss into the pipe at the very bottom (see photo). As the inital entry out the wall will be on a gradient I was wondering if there was a combination of elbows I can utilise to get a 90 degree vertical drop down to the entry point? As I'm using 50mm pipe I'm not sure I can fashion something on an angle, similar to boiler condensate pipe the other side.

Or would it be easier to just employ a strap boss further up the soil pipe?

Cheers. P

Strap on boss

Boiler condense needs to be in 35mm eg 11/4

If you are feeling brave, get a solvent short boss from Screwfix. cut out a section, open it up and glue it in place.

I have had bad luck with straps-ons.

Get your mind out of the gutter.

Also, 50mm might be oversized for a bathroom. You could drop it to 40mm

I’ve started to use black ct1 on them haven’t had any problems since

Ooooh sneaky. I hear only good things about CT1.

Seems that every plumber is sponsored by them opened up the local trade mag to 4 of them :D

BC are insisting on 50mm due to the distances involved. Whats your issue with a boss strap?
