A mate of mine has bought a bungalow which is a complete strip back and start again job.

He wants to get a log burner that he can tie into the hot water/heating, but keep a gas boiler for when the fire isn't on. Is this possible, and if it is what system/set up and controls are needed.

This isn't something, I normally deal with (just gas boilers normally) so after a bit of help/advice.
