Hi

I am putting in a new stopcock in a house in Bath. The incoming main is on a lead pipe before it turns to copper before the existing stopcock.

Can anyone advise what is the best part to use for lead to copper

thanks

Paul

Another vote for UTC but please make sure you tighten up properly, not just hand tight.

i would take a section of the pipe with me to make sure i got the right size aswel.

Good time to replace the water main, aks local water Co some give help with cost !

if i cant replace it i buy a lead stick and wipe it,but my old man taught me how to do it he is a expert in lead jointing

Thanks guys for all your useful messages. I will cut a little of the lead off and go down to the plumbers merchants. I cannot turn the water off from the road so will need Wessex water to come and have a look and possibly put in a new main

best wishes

Paul

HI

I used a UTC which did not work the first time but the second time all is good, it is always difficult to know how tight to make it?

The Water Board came and put a new main in so it is now very easy to turn off from the road

thanks for all your help

Paul
