Hi all,

A bit of advice please... :)

I'm connecting 22mm pipes to our new shower valve. For this I've bought some 3/4" to 22mm compression fittings. Here's some piccies of them all:

What I need to know is should I use a fibre washer placed on the compression fitting's collar (shown above) in order to make a watertight seal?

I know it's probably a simple question to answer for those in the 'know', but since I'm not then I thought it best to ask! :)

Thanks in advance for all help.

Tony.

loctite 55 on the thread?

Although, looking at the size of those ports, it seems a bit of a waste of 22mm (plus less heat efficient, unless it's on a ring main)

Its a thermostatic shower then. Compression fittings come with olives (little brass rings inside the fitting) or fibre washers this is your seal! On the threads, use about 30 wraps of PTFE tape (17p a role, you'll not need more than one) or as above LSX. ;)
