I am in the early stages of quoting for a job where the customer wants a couple of outside taps putting at each end of his gararge. At the moment there is a solid concrete floor with galvanised steel pipe (outside diameter 27mm) which goes into a leaky old stoptap with rust around the join. The other side of the stoptap goes into 15mm copper to a small sink in the gararge, it is into this pipe I will tee off to go to the new taps.
I know these old pipes are probably measured on the inside diameter and will be in imperial but what kind of connector will I need and will I have to cut a thread on the end of the pipe? Is it possible to get a new stoptap (which he wants) with the inlet excepting the galvanised pipe and the other 15 mm ?
In peoples experience is it easy to make a good connection?
Also he wants the pipework done in plastic, which would be best Speedfit, Hep2o etc?
Thanks.
