Cordless Power Drill information please

HI

I have been and will be working outside quite alot and have been using a Draper 18v cordless combi hammer drill. However it is just not powerful enough and I used up two batteries trying to drill a whole though a metal trough, without much luck.

Can anyone recommend a good reasonably priced cordless powerdrill

im not saying its not your cordless, but how big a hole were you trying to drill and what bits were you using. using wrong or cheap hole saws for metal it will take ages to get through. But as suggested aeg or hitachi ive even found some ryobi tools to be fairly good and cheap
 
do you rate these aeg, hitachi over say dewalt or makita gas man?. looking for renewal myself and cringing at £300 especially when i want an impact driver too at £200....i allways think about the renewall cost if dropped. knicked etc.
 
tbh aeg comparable to makita not bad kit but can brake and hitatchi to dewalt pretty bomb proof had a hitatci chiseller sds for 3 years just needed to oil the chuck with chain lube cracking piece of kit that works hard but expensive to buy bought 2 aeg 14v litiohn ion mines been faultless my dads been away once selecter switch went we tend to buy in twos when our kit needs renewing as we are normally on separate jobs but the hitatchi has proved its self think i paid 240 from a fixing firm owned by plumbs cant remember the name sadly,the 14v aeg is more of a 18v power wise

my mate has had an aeg cordless for a few months he has had no problems with it, apart from the gearbox is starting to make a noise but still works perfectly fine. dewalt have gone down hill in my opinion over priced and dont last all that long, well our drills havent lasted.

as for an impact driver ive got a rioby 18v one, had it 2 years and still works perfectly fine and it does get abused. again though the gearbox is making a whining noise.
 
Old post but just in case anyone's still looking at it for info. We use a Makita 18v lithium iron cordless, can't fault the drill. We got the twin pack with the driver which is also excellent.

Only thing to be aware is Makita had a run on dodgy batteries which didn't hold their charge so make sure you keep your receipt so you can get the battery exchanged if you do get a duff one.

As mentioned before make sure you use decent bits as that makes the world of difference.
 
i took up screwfix's offer the other week for the dewalt 18v xrp combi drill, great piece of kit and does the job perfet, only draw back was i only got 1 battery with it, but for £150 i couldunt afford not to.
 
I have had my dewalt 18 v three battery set for 97 years now, took it through two world wars and is still going strong, was my granddads he used it to put a towel rail up in lord Moutbattens desert trailer and his dads before him, who used it to drill and fix the barb wire posts in no mans land, in all that time only had to charge batteries up twice, once when first purchased and in 1957 when me Nan used it to mix some of her pastry up, that was asking a bit much, lovely bit of kit,me granddad went up against some of those hitatchi,s during war with his dewalt,they never stood a chance, absolute carnage

puddle love it, gonna get me xrp 18v out now and build a bike the mrs will love it, my little boy even more, who else makes drills that good😀😀
 
I agree with andyg, the screwfix offer is a cracking one. bought one myself as a spare drill and to get the Li battery and charger to use on my other dewalt.

Milwaukee are said to be good but are made by the same company that makes RYOBI.

Skils website has Robert Bosch address on it.

The rest seem to be who they are.

B&Q had a makita 18v drill with 1 battery up for 89.99 last time i checked bargain imo
