Hi,
I'm a Brit currently living in the West coast of the USA. I have a one bedroom flat in the UK and was told by my tenant that the water tank in my storage closet has leaked, and needs replacing. I'm pretty sure it's an electric immersion heater ( it's definitely not gas, and there is a switch next to the tank which if "off" means no hot water), and although I don't know exactly how big the tank is, it only serves a 1 bedroom flat, and I never had a problem with running out of water.
My tenant had someone come round and quoted over 600 pounds for a replacement (and obviously this involves removing the old tank, buying and installing a new one). Because of the time difference here (8 hours behind UK time), it's very difficult for me to talk to people during UK business hours.
I would be ever so grateful if anyone is able to provide some feedback on whether the costs quoted seem realistic / reasonable? Apologies in advance if I have not provided enough info for informed responses - if there are any questions, I will try my best to answer them!
Many thanks,
