Cost to lift floor and replace kitchen waste pipe

We have just had a drain specialist in greater Manchester who said that our builders (uncontactable) laid our 40mm pvc waste pipe from the kitchen island to outside (about 3 meters, suspended floor, just about a crawl space underneath when floor lifted) too flat and there’s standing water, smell etc. they’ve quoted £2250 to lift the floor and replace the pipe. Sounds way too much for me but wanted to know what a reasonable quote would be. Thanks

Is it just to lift and replace or have they priced to put flooring back down?

What flooring have you got?

Does it involve dismantling the kitchen?

Does it involve drain work outside?

Hi, it’s to put the flooring back down which is herringbone LVT, no kitchen dismantling required, the pipe heads off from the island to the side of the patio door, no outside work required.

That looks like a "We don't want the job" price.

You'd be better arranging a floor layer to lift the LVT then a plumber to sort the waste pipe

But, there shouldn't be a smell because of the pipe being at the wrong angle.
Is the smell from a sink on the island, the trap should stop any smells.?
Did the sink / waste pipe block up hence the Drains people?

Hi, thanks for your reply. We've had a rat problem and think they might be coming from the waste pipe - he found no cracks, but standing water and said he thinks the plumber didn't solvent weld the pipes as the small pipe dropping outside wasn't properly welded. He said he thinks there'll be a drip under the suspended floor creating 'food flavoured mud' attracting the rats - which might be the things that are smelling! What do you think?
