hi all i would love some advice on costing some work i've been offered.

i have been asked to quote for plumbing in the drainage of some new caravans.

waste from w/c, 110 platsic, with a boss or bosses (depending on van arangement) for waste (42mm) from sink, basin and shower. and fitting a trap on the shower (a conventinal trap under the van not a shower trap as normal). all solvent welded.

Really easy strait forward work, the drain to connect to is located within the concrete pad the vans stand on (usually to one side). Normally i would do it per hour easy. but i need to give a price for doing a large number 20+ to begin with, maybe more.

Labour only, all parts supplied.

i am thinking £35/40 per van. i think i can do at least 3 a day, more like 5 if i get a shift on.

what do you all think?

thanks crafty

Ohh and anyone know the best way to cut large quantities of 110mm pipe, i'm thinking of making up a mitre sort of jig? any suggestions?

Hi. Price of £40 a unit sounds good to me. As for cutting soil pipe a fine tooth wood saw and a rub a round with a rasp and plenty of fairy liquid on push fit joints. (If cutting square is a problem? Use a sheet of newspaper, wrap it around the pipe so edges line up and mark with a marker pen.)

thanks justlead,

great to have an experienced guys opnion.

i like the newspaper trick too, looks like i'll have to start buying one again.
