Hi all can anyone tell me how the cost for a scsc card /gold/
How long is the test
how long until i get the plastic card

thanks

I'm doing the cscs test tomorrow in cardiff and it's costing me £17.50.

Passed, very simple really, mostly common sense.

Got to get my supervisors card next....

I am totally fed up by the whole CSCS thing. I have been bounced back and forth from CSCS people to JIB-PMES people trying to find out how I can get my first card.

The problem I have is that in order to get a green employee card you have to get your employer to fill out section 14 of the application form. I have recently completed my level 2 tech cert and am now looking for my first job in the plumbing industry so do not have an employer yet. Due to this I have been told that once offered a job your prospective employer can fill it out?

And round in circles I go as the first thing I get asked when enquiring about some jobs is whether I have a CSCS card? There is also a red trainee card, but I believe you have to be registered as doing your NVQs?

I have done and passed the £17.50 health and safety test which was was an absolute doddle which I would be surprised if anyone ever failed!

There is also a £10 student one but I do not think this is a full card or would allow you to work on sites?

Any suggestions?

probably find its easier to get one as a self employed labourer 2000 easten europeans working for the olympics didnt seem to have any problems

how many languages do they do it in
when i took mine in romford the guy behind me didnt speak english so he had brought a friend to help him
and yes they let them
some one with no english is inherently a danger on site
althgough ive been on sites where not speaking polish was actually dangerous

There's a coincidence I did mine in Romford as well! 3rd floor Lambourne House, with computers that are about 15 years old! The day that I went I think I was the only person there that spoke English as the guy at the desk had a tough job explaining to the people before me what to do and what buttons to press?
