current boiler scrappage scotland ends 25/03/11

noticed in the GSR mag (march11) the scottish govt. released £1m on 01.02.11 , enough for 2500 £400 rebate vouchers for homeowners replacing a band G boiler with an A rated if installed and invoice received by EST on/before 25th March.

only lasted 36 hours last year with all 5000 vouchers snapped up in the first 2 days .
get in quick if you or a customer are eligible , £400 is better than a hole in a doughnut.

Are you finding it is encouraging people to replace there band G boilers or are they just replacing boilers that would need doing anyway

cuts everywhere in scotland also possibly even worse the amount of people i know who arent working at the moment is a joke! its a scheme to encourage people to have HE boilers I'm going to try get a £400 voucher towards my boiler swap anyhow ive got an old vokera with permanent pilot

and anyway, what about all the billions you get from our oil ? what about 12 13 billion

Thats a bit harsh Steve. England gave out 134000 "grants" which equates to approx 1 grant for every 165 households. Scotland, including the second round of grants will have given out 5500 which is about 1 for every 425 households so we still have a bit to catch up.

Btw i have had a spate of last minute voucher spenders since the new year. Got another 3 booked to do before the 25th March when they run out.

replacing a potterton profile 40e next week , had a look , its 71.8 % , hard lines for the custards . told them to phone up and enquire about stand bys for any unclaimed vouchers.

it is definately an incentive to replace them sooner rather than waiting till the existing breaks down.

replacing it with vaillant ecotech either pro 28kw or 831 31kw the vokera is knackered plus think i'll take it apart learn a thing or 2

aw well went on the sedbuk website, turns out the excell is a band F boiler 73% efficiency ... still sent it away though see if they accept it but their asking for band G below 70% ! hope they accept it though could do with a new boiler

well said they forget about our little gold mine that if we were independent years ago when we discovered it we would be a very very rich country and england would have been poorer so really steve should just keep silent
