i was just wondering how you would deal with this, you can try to help as much as you can with some customers but some just take the biscuit, i recently fitted a steam cabin, needed a prv fitted to the cold, fitted it and put it in the position they requsted, i went on holiday to return to no calls complaints to my friend who knew them, they had told them the pressure reducing valve leaked and soaked the house, they are claiming off there own insurance.

i asked them what had happened they said the valve just popped off, no chance of this imo, and they had trouble with the celings and plastering before i had left to go on holiday, which makes me think its a fraudulant claim to get all that work done, why not phone me and why not claim off our insurance?. Anyway i had a couple of bathrooms to do for same group of friends but they seem a bit taken back now. i have explained that i dont think it was my plumbing that caused it and the bathroom was finished to a high standard but it has effected my reputation so to speak.

i was just wondering what i could do? anyone with simliar experiences ?

any advice?

or just take it on the chin ?

Take it on the chin and put down to experiance,it will not be the last time this happens, anyone mentions it explain like you have here,if I bumped into them I may confront them if they caught me on a bad day
It will soon be forgotten and by going round you could blow it all up again
you have now got a nice finished bathroom to combat anything that is said in that circleof people ,actions are louder than words :)
ps Hope you had a good hoiday !!:)

and faulty fittings can take several years to pop off!
i know we sometimes use faulty fitting as a get out of jail card, but they do exist and do pop off. i blame the brass olives (going off subject)

yeah i need to just go over my head - just winds me up that its blatent by not contacting me and claiming off her own insurance. ah well live and learn i suppose.
