Looking at this job tomorrow - they want a safety check on an ahouse they've just moved into. They have the other MI's but they weren't left the MI's for the fire.

Anyone have a manual for this or know a good place to look? I can get boiler ones no probs but struggled to track this one down.

I don't think I can do the job without it? Worried about the 'coal' layouts etc.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark,

You can carry out the safety check with limitations I'd say. If the property is privately owned then I'd let the owner know your concerns, likewise if it's rented accomodation you need to asses the situation and determine best criteria to attach to the installation, letting the landlord and responsible person know your findings. You never know you may just get an additional job to replace the fire!

I've never heard o fthe appliance in question unfortunatly .. :)

Cheers diamondgas, what you say were my initial thoughts - ie basic safety check better than nothing. It's a private house and they want to be safe with a young child. Surely not all fires without MI's have to be AR/ID, but then how would we know if say a coal was missing or wrong layout? Not heard of this fire before either I think its a newish (15 years?) build.

As you can probably tell I'm newly gas safe (passed probation today!), realising that the real world is not that straightforward in practice!

Give the manufacturers a call 01472-351651 ... according to the internet anyhoo's!

We all start Mark and never stop learning! Done this for some time and still learning! Thing I'd do is make sure it is notspilling fumes and if it needs ventilation make sure it has it. Check the data bage for kW input yeh?

good spot Steve - I looked all over for their details! And wise words re: getting basic data off the badge. Will give them a ring first thing (or even better get the customer on the case!)

The appliance isn't yours at the end of the day Mark, good thinking!

Also, if I may say, wise precautions regarding coal config. You'll get to know in the years to come how many folk don't think that it's that important!!!

Did you ever get the MI for this. I have just come accross one so would like them.
Thanks

No luck with it - from memory they had shut down and there were no MIs available

That's not the manufacturers number, just of fire showroom in Grimsby
