Got into a real mess with customer and builders involved who acused me of causing a leak (was there for a day doing boiler, powerflushing leaked through a pushfit JG cap the builder fitted under floorboard on a bit of bent pipe). Customer sided with them despite me having evidence of their shoddy cap, and they wanted £150 to them to paint ceiling.

After a long back and forth everything was settled aside from 75 quid which was promised to me then customer started blaming a blocked drain on me and now going to complain to gas safe and citizens advice berau.

Anyhow I filled benchmark and left at property as usual. However I always with my invoice write that all registration Gas Safe and warranty only done after full invoice settlement. I told them the boiler wont be registered until the 75 quid is paid. Now Gas Safe is involved I want to be sure I won't be forced by them to register the boiler given circumstances.

I would wait and see.
If they force you to register then you can do when told.

What was the boiler?
Is it one you would have offered an extended warranty over them registering it them selves?

That was my thinking.
It was Logic + it just comes with 7 year warranty but that has to be registered.

They can register the warranty themselves by sending off the form.
You would get the points if you do it on installer connect. I’m sure you can get all documents sent to yourself.

Register it bud and have the certificate sent to your home address you then have one in reserve . Cheers kop

gas safe will force you " you cant hold the paperwork back as its been installed" or something to that effect

always state no guarantee or warranty and wont be held responsible for existing pipework if it leaks / doesnt work
